20th Century Fox Audio Logo

Although generally longer than most audio logo as a rule, the fanfare is highly associated with the company.  The Fox fanfare was originally composed in 1933 by Alfred Newman, who became head of Twentieth Century-Fox's music department from 1940 until the 1960s. It was re-recorded in 1935 when 20th Century Fox was officially established.

The original hand written copy of the score. In B flat Major written in common time (4/4) with a change to 6/4 for the last two bars.  Only 9 bars long set at marziale (March music or music with a military feeling).  Baring that in mind the choice of instrumentation is very much as you would expect from a military band:

Brass - inc. Tuba, trumbone
Strings - inc. viola, cello
Woodwind
Percussion - inc. Field Drum, Bass drum and timpani

Taking into account the tune was written during World War 2, the choice of using a military style fanfare was very fitting.  Thinking about trends and demographics is very important.
