I have been messing around with Logic express seeing what instruments and synths I could play with. For my first attempt I had a futuristic brand in mind:
- innovation
- communication
- technology
So without much research into this at the moment I was going with my gut when choosing the sounds. This first experiments was mainly about the instrumentation and choosing sounds that I reckon are appropriate to the three buzz words. I used a bit of general music composition knowledge and made sure the sounds it choose were not too similar and would compliment each other, i was baring in mind treble, middle and bass to give an all round sound.
The first instrument is a digital bell using a synth called "Crystalline Spheres". I used one note C4 and added some delay to make it sound like it was ringing once. This was the treble
The second instrument was Clubby Velocity Chords. I used one long note in Csharp2. it was quite subtle vibeing chords plusing like electricity. This was the middle frequency.
The Bass instrument came in last this was a Chirp Synth Bass. I held a deep C3 note, which also pulsed.
To create a sort of background ambience I added 2 instruments:
The first was IDM Elements 01. I held one long C2 note which produced several sounds at once, a combination of static and old vinyl scratches and high pitched pulses, these noises all sounded very technical and created a swooshing sense to the logo.
The second ambient sound was Falling Star Synth, also held one lone note in Csharp2, this of course sounded like a sparkling whoosh through the air, which could be interoperated as sending a message through space.
